The directorate is headed by the Director of Water Resources Management and Development. This is one of the directorates that carries out the core function of the authority. It is responsible for monitoring, management and development of water resources and also the monitoring of water quality and pollution control.
The purpose of the directorate is to manage and develop water resources.
The Functions of this are
  • The provision of surface water services.
  • The provision of ground water services.
  • The provision of water quality services.
The directorate is dived into three divisions as follows:
  • Surface Water Division- Responsible for the management, development and monitoring of surface water sources.
  • Ground Water Division- Responsible for the management, development and monitoring of ground water sources.
  • Water Quality Division — Responsible for the monitoring of water quality and pollution.
